Meet Our Counselors

Bridging Counseling has Masters level therapists that are registered and/or licensed with the State of Washington. All of them have experience in pastoral care and counseling as a means of revealing Christ’s compassion to those experiencing crisis.

Deb Ivancovich- MA, MHCA
Deb is the Director of  Hillcrest Community Services and Bridging Counseling and a pastor at Hillcrest Chapel.  She has over ten years of experience in pastoral care and counseling with an emphasis in individual, marriage & family, sexuality, trauma, and grief & loss. Deb leads Living Waters, a ministry dedicated to helping those struggling with relational and sexual brokenness.  Deb has her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Western University, Langley, BC, Canada. Matthew Meyer– MC, MHCA Matt approaches therapy from an eclectic variety of perspectives including Family Systems, Object Relations, Attachment, and Behavioral Theories.  He has completed intensive training in Dialectical Behvior Therapy (D.B.T.), Emotionally Focused Therapy (E.F.T.), and Satir Therapy.  Matt is also part of MiddlePath Counseling, a group of independent DBT practitioners.  Clients are viewed in the context of their relationships with others and how those relationships impact current levels of functioning.  Therapy is collaborative, holistic, and flexible, with intentions tailored to empower and meet specific goals set by the client.  In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and twin toddlers.  He also enjoys reading and outdoor activities.  BS – Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA. Amy McMurtrey- MS, LMFTA Amy specializes in working with children, adolescents, and other families.  Amy also loves working with college students and is a certified PREPARE counselor (pre-marital counseling).  In her work with children and youth, Amy uses play and art therapy techniques.  Amy received her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University.  Amy grew up in Bellingham.  She enjoys spending time with her fiance.  LMFTA# MG60113212. 


Dawne Grove- MC, LMHC

Dawne specializes in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and body image issues. She works with adults, college students and adolescents. Dawne received a bachelors’ degree from Moody Bible Institute and Masters in Counseling from Trinity Western University, ACTS Seminary. She lives in Bellingham with her husband.  LMHC# LH60169795.



Michael Black– MA--Twenty-three years of experience.  Specializing in individual, couples, family and chemical dependency concerns.  MA – Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA.
